Activities From The Heart

-a collections of fun activities for children

Activities From The Heart is a 124-page children’s book filled with great ideas including fun games to play, exciting projects to create and easy, kid-friendly recipes to enjoy.  It was created by the family and friends of Abby Glaser, a little girl who taught everyone the importance of play, the gift of a smile and how to sneak chocolate!  Her legacy inspires us to enjoy life and to make the most out of each day…even if it gets a little messy.

To order Activities From The Heart (the perfect gift for birthdays, holidays, new babies and old friends) contact Rebecca Boresow Reardon at Rebecca.boresow@ctvsales.com (816.678.2606) or visit The Learning Tree in Corinth Square or Town Center. The cost is $10 and is 100% tax deductible.  Please make checks payable to The Abby Glaser Children’s Heart Fund, where all donations are directed toward research into the causes and prevention of sudden cardiac death in children.

Cereal Box Puzzles
Kids love to do these puzzles because they are so familiar with the pictures.

Cut the front panel from a box of your child's favorite cereal. Use masking tape or painter's tape around all four sides for strengthening. Cut both abstract and recognizable shapes using all of the cereal panel. Store pieces in a Ziploc bag.

Duck, Duck, GOOSE
You can vary this circle game with “rabbit rabbit hare,” “alligator, alligator, crocodile.”

Excerpts from Activites from the Heart:

Sports Fanatic Dad
You'll need:  Ink pad or paint, fine tip marker, Dad's favorite sports ball in miniature size (example:  basketball, football, baseball, etc...)  Kids will ink their hand and imprint it on their Dad's favorite sports ball.  With the fine tip marker write "World's Greatest Dad" and include the year.

Ants on a Log
You’ll need: Celery, peanut butter or cream cheese, raisins.
Cut celery into 3 or 4 inch pieces.  Spread peanut butter or cream cheese and then add as many ants (raisins) as you’d like.  Once the ants arrive, it’s a real campout!
